After finishing in the playoff places in the new Champions League format, both Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund have found out who they will play in the playoffs.
Bayern Munich will face Celtic, while Borussia Dortmund have been drawn against Sporting.
Both ties are winnable for the Bundesliga sides, but for Bayern, there are bigger permutations as the games against Celtic sandwich their Bundesliga top-of-the-table clash against Bayer Leverkusen.
Leverkusen however do not need to worry about other fixtures as they were the only Bundesliga side to finish in the top eight. This means that they have a bye straight to the round of 16. If Bayern win their playoff, it could potentially set up a clash with the current Bundesliga league leaders.
VfB Stuttgart and RB Leipzig were both eliminated after the league phase. Leipzig were the most disappointing of the German teams as they only won one game, against Sporting. Stuttgart on the other hand may feel as if they should of qualified for the playoffs having struggled to beat Sparta Prague and Red Star Belgrade earlier in the competition.
