French attacking midfielder Michael Olise (22) has put pen to paper over a five-year deal with Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich this Sunday, according to a report from L’Equipe. The French outlet even understands that the now-former Crystal Palace player has been allowed by his new club to take part in the Paris Olympic Games football tournament with Thierry Henry’s national team. A welcome news for the former Arsenal legend, who was dealt a cruel blow by Juventus when it transpires the Serie A giants have retained Khéphren Thuram (23).
The French outlet understands that Michael Olise’s transfer fee amounts to €60m. The London-born 22-year-old has left France’s Olympic football team’s training camp at Aix-en-Provence this weekend to undergo his medical with Bayern Munich and sign a five-year contract. Michael Olise started as an attacking midfielder behind an attacking duo composed of Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette and Palace’s Jean-Philippe Mateta for France’s first pre-Olympics friendly game. Les Bleus won 4-1 against Paraguay this Thursday.
