Bayern Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen have reached an agreement that will allow Jonathan Tah to represent Bayern in the coming Club World Cup. Tah’s move to the Bundesliga record champions on a free transfer at the end of the month had already been arranged. Tah will now join Bayern early for a modest sum. Kicker speaks of a fee between €2m and €4m.
Sky Germany, meanwhile, reports that Leverkusen will pay Bayern a base-transfer-fee of €800,000 to obtain Tah early. The fee can rise to well above €1m if the Bavarians progress far in the tournament. Bayern find themselves in need of immediate assistance in central defense due to the fact that Dayot Upamecano and Kim Min-jae are struggling with injury.
Bayern still have work to due in order to shore up their squad for the coming tournament. The German giants have recalled two loan players – Adam Aznou and Maurice Krattenmacher – early in order to participate in the Club World Cup. Another player set to join Bayern at the end June on a free could also be purchased early.
Both Kicker and Sky Germany report that Bayern wish to enlist the services of TSG 1899 Hoffenheim midfielder Tom Bischof this month. The 19-year-old talent technically belongs to Bayern as of July 1st.
The special “transfer window” that allows clubs to secure players for the novel USA tournament this month remains open through June 10th. More transactions are surely set to be completed in the next three days.
