After beating Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie at the Allianz Arena last week, Bayern Munich went into Tuesday's return leg at the BayArena in a strong position.
And the Bavarians finished the job and booked their place in the quarter-finals with a 2-0 win, taking the aggregate score to 5-0.
Following a goalless first half with chances at both ends, Harry Kane broke the deadlock in the 52nd minute. Joshua Kimmich's free-kick landed at the feet of the striker, who had no trouble beating Lukas Hradecky from close range.
Kane's opener made a near-impossible task even harder for Leverkusen, and coach Xabi Alonso reacted by bringing on Victor Boniface and Amine Adli, knowing that his side now needed four goals to have any chance of going through.
But the German champions' last hopes were dashed in the 71st minute when Harry Kane's pass found Alphonso Davies, who sprinted to the penalty spot and slotted the ball into the net to make it 2-0.
Jamal Musiala came close to ensure another 3-0 win for Bayern late on, but he hit the woodwork on two occasions and the score remained 2-0.
Bayern will now face Inter in the quarter-finals, with the Italian side having beaten Feyenoord 4-1 on aggregate.
