Bayern leading Dortmund in transfer race for Germany international

Bayern Munich have overtaken Borussia Dortmund in the race for Southampton defender Armel Bella-Kotchap.

Sky’s Florian Plettenberg claims that Thomas Tuchel’s side are now “in pole position” for the Germany international.

The Bundesliga rivals are both pushing for Bella-Kotchap, with Bayern said to be pursuing a season-long loan deal.

According to Plettenberg, Dortmund are set to increase their offer for the 21-year-old to an initial loan with an obligation to buy.

Bella-Kotchap has yet to feature for the Saints this season after their Premier League relegation plunged his future into doubt.
