As per a report by L’Équipe, a clear leader in the race for Xavi Simons’ signature (21) has emerged after Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig both sent competing offers to Paris Saint-Germain.
Simons has been clear that he does not see his future in Paris. The midfielder has been reluctant to return to his parent club after a season on loan at Leipzig and would like to facilitate a move away from PSG.
However, PSG are unwilling to sell this summer as the terms in which they bought Simons from his previous club PSV mean that the Dutch side would be owed a considerable portion of any transfer fee that PSG collects before January 2025.
With this in mind, Bayern and Leipzig have both proposed loan offers to PSG with an obligation to buy next summer. However, Bayern have reportedly outbid their domestic rivals with some sources revealing to L’Équipe that they have inserted a €90 million transfer fee into their deal.
