Bayern Munich have turned their attention to Daniel Peretz as they continue their quest to sign a goalkeeper this summer.

Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the Bavarians have lodged an official bid worth €4.5 million to sign the 23-year-old.

Peretz has been an impressive performer for Israeli heavyweights Maccabi Tel Aviv since getting his shot at first-team opportunities in 2020.

After progressing through the youth ranks, he spent a year away from the Bloomfield Stadium on loan before establishing himself with the Tel Aviv giants.

Peretz has since clocked 100 appearances for the record-time Israeli champions, keeping an impressive 43 clean sheets.

He was part of the Israel under-21 national team that reached the European Championship semi-finals before crashing out to eventual winners England.

Peretz kept two clean sheets in four appearances during the tournament while maintaining an average rating of 7.3.

Bayern are on the market for a new back-up goalkeeper after losing Yann Sommer to Inter Milan, and Peretz has emerged on their radar.

The youngster is considered an exciting talent by the Bundesliga champions and could be plying his trade in the German top flight before the transfer window closes.

With Manuel Neuer still short of match fitness, Bayern were previously looking for an emergency first-choice goalkeeper but have suffered several setbacks in their search.

They had several top-class names on their shortlist, including Sevilla’s Yassine Bono, Ajax’s Geronimo Rulli, and ex-Manhcester United star David De Gea.

However, Bono is on the verge of joining the Saudi Pro League exodus, with a move to Al-Hilal on the horizon, while Rulli suffered an injury setback that effectively ruled out a potential transfer.

A move for De Gea has been ruled out. Kepa Arrizabalaga, who was on their radar, opted for a switch to Real Madrid, while Manchester City are unwilling to sanction a move for Stefan Ortega.

Sven Ulreich looks set to retain the number one shirt until his German counterpart returns to full fitness.

He could be challenged by Peretz, who will be eager to prove his mettle at the Allianz Arena.
