Bayern Munich director Oliver Kahn has ruled out a move for Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos.
Reports emerged on Sunday that the Spaniard is now strongly considering his long-term future at the club.
While it was claimed that Manchester United looks a likely destination, Bayern were also mooted due to their need for defensive reinforcements.
“As a player, I’d have loved to play with Ramos,” Kahn, who sits on the board of directors at the Allianz Arena, told Sky 90.
“But there’s nothing in any of those stories.”
However, he did acknowledge that David Alaba could end up replacing Ramos in the Spanish capital if he does leave, with Bayern now resigned to losing the versatile defender.
“We’re losing Alaba. We made him an offer a while ago and he didn’t accept that offer,” Kahn admitted.
“I also understand that a player like him, who has been at Bayern Munich for a long time, is looking for a new challenge now.
“We have to think about who could be an adequate replacement for David.”
It appears that the chosen man in that regard will be Dayot Upamecano of RB Leipzig – and not the Real Madrid legend.
