Bayer Leverkusen have announced the arrival of defender Timothy Fosu-Mensah from Manchester United.
The versatile Dutchman, who can play at centre-back, right-back or even in midfield if required, had rejected offers of a new contract at Old Trafford.
As a result, the club have allowed him to depart for Germany, where he has signed a three-and-a-half year deal with the Werkself after a fee in the region of €2 million was agreed.
“It is a move to a really interesting and strong league,” the 23-year-old told Leverkusen’s official website.
“Bayer have been one of the best teams in it for years and I’m really looking forward to working with Peter Bosz, who I’ve spoken a lot with in the last few days.
“I’m excited about the great prospects here, both for me personally and as a team. It’s going to be really exciting.”
Fosu-Mensah will wear the No. 24 jersey at the BayArena.
