Bayer Leverkusen have become the first ever Bundesliga side to go through the entire season unbeaten as they ended their season on a high with a 2-1 against Augsburg.
Goals from Robert Andrich and Victor Boniface ensured that their unbeaten record remained intact, and in the process Die Werkself became the first side since the reunion of Germany to achieve the feat.
Xabi Alonso's side, who were crowned Champions in April, have enjoyed a fantastic season and could yet clinch a historic treble, which would see them go unbeaten for an entire season across all competitions.
They will face Serie A outfit Atalanta in the final of the Europa League on Wednesday, before meeting second-tier German side Kaiserslauten in the final of the DFB Pokal three days later.
With Alonso having already confirmed that he will be staying at the club this summer, Leverkusen will be hoping that this can be the start of something special for the club who have finally overcome their trophy hoodoo.
