Eliesse Ben Seghir’s time in Ligue 1 has come to an end. The Moroccan attacking midfielder, long expected to depart this summer, finally secured a move in the closing hours of the transfer window.

As reported by Africafoot, AS Monaco and Bayer Leverkusen reached an agreement for a transfer worth €32 million, plus an additional €5 million in potential bonuses, along with a sell-on clause.

Leverkusen, a club known for its shrewd market moves, officially announced the signing on their X account on Sunday, August 31st, 2025. At just 20 years old, Ben Seghir takes a major step forward in his career by joining one of Europe’s most competitive sides.

A product of Monaco’s academy, the Moroccan international leaves the club after making 85 appearances and scoring 15 goals in the famous red and white jersey. Now, the Bundesliga awaits—a new stage where he will look to fulfill the promise that once made him one of French football’s most exciting prospects.
