Bayer Leverkusen are reportedly interested in signing Manchester United winger Antony this summer, according to Sky Sport Germany’s Florian Plettenberg.

The Brazilian winger recently spent time on loan with Real Betis. He impressed during his short stay, despite Betis losing the Europa Conference League final.

Antony’s performances caught the attention of Leverkusen, who are looking to strengthen ahead of the new campaign.

The Bundesliga club are preparing for the possible departure of Florian Wirtz and have added Antony to their list of targets.

Antony could benefit from a move to Leverkusen

A move to Germany would reunite Antony with Erik Ten Hag. The Dutch manager was recently appointed as the new manager of Leverkusen.

Ten Hag previously worked with Antony at Ajax, where the winger enjoyed one of the best spells of his career.

He also managed him at Man United after the club paid over £80 million for him in 2022.

Antony has struggled to make an impact with United and could be open to a fresh start elsewhere.

Leverkusen finished second in the Bundesliga last season, ending the campaign 13 points behind league winners Bayern Munich.

With Wirtz likely to leave, Leverkusen are expected to bring in new attacking players. Their aim is to remain competitive on all fronts next season.

Antony could thrive again under Ten Hag’s system. If a deal goes through, it could mark a new chapter in Antony’s career and provide Leverkusen with a proven option in attack.
