Leicester midfielder Bartosz Kapustka has already expressed his desire to leave the club this summer but made it a point to identify that the current situation is neither good for his personal career or for the club itself.

The Poland international has seen his career go off the rails due to a series of knee ligament injuries and recognises this current period of time would be crucial to his development.

“After a long break with injury, this is another break that will not affect me positively,” Kapustka said.

“Especially after such a long injury, I felt like a kid who goes out into the garden and enjoys every touch of the ball. In those moments when I didn’t play, I missed it – the sheer joy of football.

“We know what the situation is now, but we don’t know how long it can take. Many boys are also now waiting to get back.

“I am curious myself when the new season will start, when we will find out what it will look like.

“There are many factors, but the footballer’s world is such that you have to realise that your career does not last forever. It all runs too quickly to wait. I would like to come back to the pitch.”

Kaputska was signed during Claudio Ranieri’s reign for €5m after a very impressive showing at Euro 2016 but has failed to produce ever since, making just three first-team appearances amid failed loan spells at Freiburg and Belgian side OH Leuven.
