What an afternoon it was for Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough on Saturday.

Facing off against fellow automatic promotion and title rivals Plymouth Argyle, it was the Owls who ran out victors in the match.

Indeed, Callum Paterson’s 7th minute strike was enough to earn Darren Moore’s side all three points, simultaneously extending their unbeaten run in League One to sixteen matches – a remarkable achievement.

One player who has been important to the club’s success this season is captain and central midfielder Barry Bannan, who was active on social media following the victory.

Indeed, on social media, the 33-year-old shared his joy at the victory and had a small message for Owls’ supporters.

“What a group of lads 💙 good performance fans were unbelievable and this picture sums up my feelings and Josh 😂 have a good weekend owls 🦉#WAWAW.” Bannan posted on Instagram.

Sheffield Wednesday are next up in action on Tuesday night when they face Fleetwood Town in an FA Cup fourth round replay.

The Verdict

As you can see from the above picture and message Barry Bannan was clearly in very good following yesterday’s victory.

That comes as no surprise too given what was at stake.

The Owls now sit top of Sky Bet League One and given the incredible run of form the side are currently on, it could be hard to displace them.

Indeed, in the coming weeks there’s no doubt they’ll be looking to solidify that position and extend their gap over Plymouth to more than just goal difference.
