Howe could opt for a midfield three of Joelinton, Bruno Guimaraes and Sean Longstaff for this game. All three of them need to pass the ball well from midfield if the Magpies are to create enough chances to win his contest on the road.

Elliot Anderson will have to settle for a place on the bench as he waits for his chance to make an impact in the second half if required.

Harvey Barnes will look to give a good account of himself on the left flank while Miguel Almiron tries to make a difference for Newcastle from the right wing.
