Nicolò Barella insists ‘nothing is over yet’ after Napoli caught Inter as joint Serie A leaders, as he continues to believe in the Treble. ‘We want to fight on all fronts and won’t stop here.’
The Nerazzurri have seen their advantage at the top of the table completely wiped out by a last-gasp Riccardo Orsolini scissor-kick volley, as the 1-0 defeat in Bologna means Napoli catch them on 71 points.
“A defeat is always hard to swallow,” Barella told Sky Sport Italia.
“We’ve got a lot of fixtures and there is fatigue, but that is not an excuse. It is not normal that a team like ours concedes such a goal when it’s seven against three in the penalty area. We’ve got to do better, football is unforgiving.”

While the talk this week was all about Inter potentially going for the Treble, there is the very realistic chance they might end up empty-handed.
They face Barcelona in the Champions League semi-final, Milan on Wednesday in the Coppa Italia semi-final, while the Serie A table is now a dead heat.
“We must never feel that we’ve already arrived, so we always have something that we can do better,” continued Barella.
“We’re fighting on three fronts, we are giving our all, and these setbacks are painful. It was a balanced match, and a draw would’ve been a fairer result. Nothing is over yet, we are still top of the table alongside Napoli.
“It is going to be a tough battle, but we want to fight on all fronts and certainly won’t stop here.”
Injuries are piling up, as Piotr Zielinski and Denzel Dumfries have been out for a while, with Marcus Thuram suffering an adductor issue over the last few days.
Some changes are going to be forced next weekend against Roma, because Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Alessandro Bastoni will be suspended.
“There is certainly fatigue, because Zielinski’s absence has meant we are not able to rotate the midfield as much, but we are not holding back. We want to win, this is the mentality we created over the last few years and one defeat certainly won’t change that,” added Barella.
“Tonight we will lick our wounds, but tomorrow we’ll start preparing for the derby and do what we do best, which is win.”
