It was an Italy full of Inter players that beat Ecuador 2-0 in a friendly in Harrison, United States. Five Inter players on the pitch, four from the first minute, with Nicolò Barella wearing the captain's armband and sealing the with with a wonderful goal deep into second-half added time. The goal that broke the deadlock was scored after just three minutes by Lorenzo Pellegrini, while in the last minute of the game Barella scored a great goal with a sublime strike.

It was goal number nine for Barella with the national team, on his 53rd appearance. The midfielder played the full 90 minutes, as did Bastoni and Darmian. Federico Dimarco, on the pitch from the first whistle, (with Italy therefore starting with four Inter players from kick-off) was replaced in the 88th minute.
