Fermin Lopez has been one of the unsung heroes for a Barcelona side which has enjoyed one of its best seasons in recent memory.

The young Spanish attacker might not have been a first-choice regular for Hansi Flick, but he has stepped up to the plate whenever required and has been an able alternative for Dani Olmo.

With just one game remaining before the season ends, Fermin has racked up an impressive eight goals and nine assists.

Inter Milan take note on Fermin’s performances

As reported by Calciomercato (h/t Mundo Deportivo), Fermin Lopez’s performances this season have not gone unnoticed either, with Inter Milan emerging as a potential suitor for the Spaniard.

As we gear up for a busy summer transfer window, it appears Inter have identified Fermin as an ideal replacement for Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

At 36, the former Borussia Dortmund star is not getting any younger, and with his contract expiring in 2026, he could be asked to move on.

That is where Fermin comes into the fray. The Spaniard has played in both matches against Inter Milan this season, in the Champions League semifinals.

The Italian giants, therefore, have had a good opportunity to take a closer look at the attacker’s abilities.

Fermin can not only bring technical quality to the table, but he is also able to operate in various attacking positions, making him an ideal target for Inter.

However, it must be noted that Fermin extended his contract at Barcelona until 2029 last October and has no desire to leave Barça, the club of his dreams.

Keeping that in mind, it will be interesting to see whether or not Inter Milan will be able to convince the La Masia graduate to jump ship and embrace a new adventure in Italy.

Moreover, it remains to be seen if Barcelona are willing to part ways with Fermin, although recent reports suggest he could be one of expendable players as the club prepare for a busy summer ahead.
