A concerning update on the ongoing construction works at La Liga giants Barcelona’s Spotify Camp Nou stadium has on Tuesday surfaced online.

The info comes courtesy of Relevo, and suggests that Barcelona could yet see their return to the ground delayed until next year.

Works to bring the Camp Nou in line with some of world football’s most modern stadiums have of course long been underway.

Owing to as much, Hansi Flick’s Blaugrana squad have been forced to play their home fixtures at Montjuïc across the campaign to date.

Initially, the hope was that Barca would mark their return to the Camp Nou late in 2024.

This date, however, has since been continually pushed back, owing to delays in the construction process.

Early this week, it was confirmed that Barcelona’s hopes of taking to their new stadium this season had been brought to a definitive end.

And now, on Tuesday, yet further alarming news has been revealed.

As per a report from Relevo:

‘Barça will not return to the Camp Nou until at least October of this year, with the possibility existing that the move will not arrive until January 2026.’
