Following a productive but travel-heavy pre-season tour in Japan and South Korea, FC Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick is already focused on preparing for the Joan Gamper Trophy match against Como.
The Blaugrana will face off against the Serie A outfit in their traditional curtain-raiser event ahead of the new season on Sunday, 10 August at 21:00 at the Estadi Johan Cruyff.
According to Mundo Deportivo, after returning to Barcelona from their successful pre-season tour of Asia, the players have been given two full days off by manager Flick – Tuesday, upon landing at El Prat Airport, and Wednesday.
The squad will reconvene on Thursday, when they will begin a new training phase at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper.

Flick has planned a double training session for the day, with a morning session at 09:30 and another in the evening at 18:00. Friday will see a single morning session at 09:30.
Despite Saturday being the eve of the Gamper match, Flick has scheduled another double session at the same times, 09:30 and 18:00, signalling the coaching staff’s intent to focus on physical conditioning that could not be prioritised during the tour due to travel constraints.
While the Gamper Trophy match will be a momentous event, Flick & Co. have their full focus on Barcelona’s La Liga opener against Mallorca set for Saturday, 16 August.
That fixture marks the true competitive start of the 2025/26 season, and all preparations are being directed toward arriving in top condition for it.
