Barcelona have made it a priority to sign a top-tier centre-forward for the next season.

While Robert Lewandowski continues to deliver impressive numbers in front of goal, Hansi Flick may want to look beyond the Pole, who will be 37 years old this year.

As a result, he has urged the Barcelona board to bring in a dynamic and versatile number nine who can provide fresh energy in the final third.

With this requirement in mind, a report from Fichajes affirms that the club has identified three main candidates for the role.

Benjamin Sesko

One of the most promising names on the list is Benjamin Sesko. The 21-year-old Slovenian striker has been making waves at RB Leipzig, impressing with his physical strength and clinical finishing ability.

His contract with the Bundesliga club runs until 2029, meaning negotiations will not be straightforward. However, his profile aligns well with Barcelona’s long-term vision for the squad.

Alexander Isak

Another strong contender is Alexander Isak, who has been outstanding for Newcastle United in the Premier League. The Swedish forward has taken his game to another level, scoring 22 goals in 32 matches this season.

His ability to operate in tight spaces and take on defenders makes him an appealing option. However, Newcastle are unlikely to let him leave without a hefty price tag, making his signing a challenge from a financial standpoint.

Viktor Gyokeres

The third option under consideration is Viktor Gyokeres, another Swedish striker who has been in phenomenal form at Sporting CP.

With 39 goals in 40 appearances, he has established himself as one of the most in-demand forwards in European football.

His contract runs until 2028, and while his buyout clause presents a clear pathway for a transfer, interest from other top clubs could complicate matters.

Barcelona face a crucial decision regarding their attacking options. Flick is determined to secure a striker who fits seamlessly into his tactical setup, and the club’s management is working to ensure they make the best possible signing.
