Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal is ready to sign his new long-term contract with the club, with all the paperwork now completed. In fact, reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that the deal will be made official today.
The agreement, which runs until June 2031, is a six-year contract that marks another important move by Barça director Deco and president Joan Laporta. Jorge Mendes, Yamal’s agent, played a key role in finalising the deal.
SPORT adds that Yamal’s new contract includes a set of performance-based clauses that could make him the highest-paid player in the squad.
One of these clauses is linked to winning the Ballon d’Or. Despite some tough moments during negotiations, both the club and the player’s camp were clear about what needed to be done.

Barcelona knew they had to offer a deal that matched Yamal’s growing status in the squad, while the player and his team were also aware of the club’s financial challenges and showed willingness to cooperate.
As Ansu Fati heads to AS Monaco on loan, the famous number 10 shirt at Barcelona is now up for grabs. All signs point to Yamal taking over the number.
This move is not just a decision made in the dressing room, it is a smart step from a business point of view as well.
With the club fresh off a La Liga title and Yamal already seen as the next big thing in world football, giving him the number 10 could give Barça a strong boost commercially.
The sale of shirts with his new number is expected to increase sharply, and it will help reinforce Yamal’s role as a central figure in the club’s future.
Although Yamal is still a minor, sources confirm that everything could be signed as early as today, with the final announcement likely coming this week.
