Barcelona have claimed a third Ballon dâOr FĂ©menin after Aitana BonmatĂ was crowned the 2023 winner.
The midfielder succeeded her club and Spain teammate Alexia Putellas, who held the award for the past two years, on Monday evening.
BonmatĂ proved integral as Barça secured a treble, winning Liga F for a fourth consecutive season before edging out Wolfsburg to lift their second UEFA Womenâs Champions League.
She also performed a starring role for Spain during their triumphant Womenâs World Cup campaign and was later crowned the tournamentâs Golden Ball winner.
BonmatĂ joins Putellas (2021, 2022), Norwayâs Ada Hegerberg (2018) and the USAâs Megan Rapinoe (2019) in winning the award.
