Dani Rodriguez is one of the young talents who made their FC Barcelona senior debut last season under Hansi Flick.

However, his debut against Real Valladolid in May ended on a heartbreaking note as the young winger suffered a dislocated shoulder and had to undergo surgery.

Now on the road to recovery, the 20-year-old has been making good strides and is closer to making a return.

Dani Rodriguez trains with Barça Atletic

Indeed, according to Mundo Deportivo, Dani Rodriguez took part in part of Monday’s training session with Barça Atlètic, marking another step forward in his recovery.

Rodriguez joined Barcelona’s youth ranks in the 2020/21 season from Real Sociedad and has since established himself as one of La Masia’s brightest prospects.

Last season, he played for the reserve side under Albert Sanchez and Sergi Mila, making ten appearances, scoring three goals and providing three assists – an impressive return given his injury setbacks.

The 20-year-old Basque winger caught Flick’s eye last season and was regularly called up to train with the first team, before eventually making his debut in May when the unfortunate injury occurred.

Barça Atletic coach Juliano Belletti is hopeful of having Rodriguez back at full strength for the coming campaign as the side looks to bounce back from relegation to the RFEF Segunda Division.

Meanwhile, Flick is also keeping a very close eye on the winger’s progress, and plans to have him continue in the first-team dynamics once he recovers fully.
