Barcelona youngster Hector Fort has officially completed a loan move to Elche, where he will spend the rest of the season gaining valuable first-team experience.
The right-back, who came through the ranks at La Masia, left at the very last minute of the transfer window.
With this move, Fort will aim to prove that he has what it takes to earn a future spot in Barcelona’s senior squad.
The 19-year-old defender took to social media to share a short but emotional farewell with Barça fans, making his intentions clear for the future.
“Good luck this year, culers, see you soon,” wrote Fort, as he reposted Barcelona’s official announcement of his loan deal alongside a heart emoji. For him, this is an important step in his development.
Playing in La Liga with Elche offers him the chance to compete regularly at the highest level, something that wasn’t possible at Barcelona this season due to limited opportunities.

It is to be noted that Hansi Flick has mainly relied on Jules Kounde and Eric García to cover the right-back position, leaving Fort with little room for playing time.
Despite this, Barcelona’s management remain convinced of his potential. The decision to send him out on loan was made so he could continue his growth with more minutes on the pitch rather than sitting on the bench.
Fort is also expected to be part of Spain’s U-20 World Cup squad, another platform where he can showcase his talent.
His time with Elche will be key in building his confidence and proving he can compete at the top level.
Having spent many years in Barcelona’s youth system, Fort will now face the challenge of adapting quickly to a new environment.
However, his determination to succeed is clear, and his message to the fans reflects his hope of returning to the Camp Nou stronger.
