Pablo Torre is expected to make a final decision on his next club in the coming days. Until now, RCD Mallorca appeared to be the frontrunner to sign him, with negotiations well advanced.

However, there may be a complete turnaround in the situation as the youngster has now received a fresh, more tempting offer.

Torre hits pause on Mallorca as Champions League club comes calling

Indeed, according to MARCA, Barcelona midfielder Torre has recently received a proposal from a European team qualified for next season’s Champions League – a tempting opportunity that has made him hit pause on Mallorca.

Indeed, talks with Mallorca are now on hold. While Torre continues to appreciate the persistent interest shown by the Balearic club – who have been monitoring him for the past two years – he is taking time to weigh up the appeal of playing in Europe’s top competition.

Mallorca are not out of the race, but they are no longer in pole position for the youngster.

An alternate report from Matteo Moretto states that the European club who have entered the picture for Torre are Ajax.

Meanwhile, Barça are working to ensure they do not completely lose control over Torre’s future.

The La Liga champions are negotiating a transfer valued at around €10 million, although the final amount will depend on contract clauses. The deal is expected to include both a buy-back option and a percentage of any future sale.

Torre does not want the decision to drag out. His goal is to be fully integrated with his new team from the first day of preseason.

Mallorca, for example, are set to start training on July 10, which gives all parties a tight window to close the deal. But the new proposal changes everything and it remains to be seen what he chooses.
