The narrative surrounding Ansu Fati’s future is beginning to attract a great deal of attention as Barcelona continues to strongly contemplate his departure from the club.

Over the past few years, the youngster has been unable to reach the high standards he set for himself, and his struggles at Brighton & Hove Albion appear to have convinced the Barcelona higher-ups that an exit would be a suitable outcome.

Consequently, Fati and his agent Jorge Mendes are on the lookout for the player’s next destination, with clubs like Valencia and Sevilla entering the picture.

Wolverhampton an appealing option

Now, Diario SPORT have published a report stating that offloading Fati to either Valencia or Sevilla would mean paying a portion of the player’s salary, which is not an ideal outcome.

As such, they are hoping interest in Fati extends beyond just La Liga. Jorge Mendes maintains Wolverhampton Wanderers as a possibility in England, a team that the Portuguese agent has significant influence in.

Barcelona have been involved in a fair few deals with Wolves owing to Mendes’ authority, such as Adama Traore, Francisco Trincao, and Nelson Semedo.

Still, returning to Spain would be Fati and his entourage’s top priority, which implies a permanent move to the Premier League will not be easy for Barcelona to execute.

Another loan in the Premier League may materialize

In case Barcelona are not aptly compensated financially by selling Fati to La Liga sides, they could extend his loan in the Premier League, providing him one last chance to rediscover his form.

It has been reported that Ansu Fati’s loan at Brighton could be extended for another season, with De Zerbi intent on extracting his best version.

But Fati will have to conclude the season on a positive note, especially since he has fallen down the pecking order at Brighton and was reprimanded by De Zerbi publicly.
