Ansu Fati made a brief return to the pitch for Barcelona during the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final against Borussia Dortmund last week, playing four minutes after the team had already secured a 4-0 lead.

These were his first minutes since January 4, when he featured for 28 minutes against Barbastro in the third round of the Copa del Rey.

Fati makes decision on his future

Now, according to SPORT, Ansu and his inner circle have decided that he will leave Barcelona at the end of the season, with it becoming clear that he is not part of Hansi Flick’s plans.

Despite having a contract that runs until 2027, the La Masia graduate no longer wishes to remain at the club.

As such, he has informed his agent, Jorge Mendes, to start seeking a new team and to negotiate a permanent departure from Barcelona.

Ansu does not wish to go out on loan again. The current Barça No. 10’s aim is to sever all ties with the club and start his career afresh elsewhere.

Fati’s camp baffled

As already reported, Ansu Fati’s camp is perplexed by his lack of opportunities coming his way in 2025, asserting that the player is physically fit and ready to compete.

They also express some frustration with Flick, as they believed, based on communication during the January window, that the German coach would give him chances.

For this reason, they did not entertain offers that came in during the winter market. However, things have not worked out in favour of the La Masia gem and as such, he has made the decision to move on in the summer.

Barcelona, for their part, are more than open to facilitating Ansu’s exit and are already exploring possible avenues for his sale.

Once tipped as the successor to Lionel Messi, the youngster’s career has gone downhill due to injury problems and it appears that his time at Barça could soon come to an end.
