Barcelona have finalised a significant move in the youth academy in the last couple of days. With only three days to go until his contract expires, the Catalans have tied down talented winger Dani Rodriguez to a new deal.
As reported by Sport, a total agreement has been reached between Barcelona and Rodriguez’s representatives, with an announcement expected in the coming days.
A few months ago, the 18-year-old had looked destined to leave, and was being courted by Athletic Club, Real Sociedad and Tottenham Hotspur, but he’s now been convinced to extend his stay in Catalonia.
Rodriguez was a bright spark for Barca Atletic last season, and given that he is a left winger, he could have the opportunity to be promoted to the first team under Hansi Flick going forward. The likelihood is that he will have the opportunity to impress the German manager during pre-season, which gets underway for Barcelona in the next couple of weeks.
