He is already a key player for Barça Atletic and is rated highly by Rafa Marquez. Barcelona, in fact, counts on him to make a big impression in senior football in the future.

Barcelona working on a renewal with Bernal

Keeping in mind his immense potential, Barcelona have already kickstarted the efforts to tie Marc Bernal down to a new contract.

That is according to ESPN, which suggests that both parties are exploring the possibility of a renewal that will seal the player’s long-term future in Catalonia.

Bernal’s current deal at the club expires in 2026. But Barcelona are ready to keep him for longer, primarily to fend off interest from other top clubs across Europe.

Arsenal, Leverkusen interested in Bernal

Marc Bernal’s astonishing performances for Barça Atletic have not gone unnoticed. And as mentioned earlier, there are several European clubs keen on acquiring his services.

As per the report, Arsenal, Bayer Leverkusen and Juventus have even made proposals for the young defensive midfielder this summer.

However, their attempts were rebuffed by Barcelona, who have no desire to offload their youth prodigy anytime soon.

Bernal, for his part, looks keen on continuing his development at the Catalan outfit. The youngster has shown a lot of patience as well and is in no hurry to gain a first-team spot.
