As FC Barcelona continue their search for a new left-winger, Liverpool and Colombia attacker Luis Diaz remains one of their main targets.

The 28-year-old forward has been on Barça’s radar for a while now, and even though a move appears to be challenging to pull off, Deco is reportedly ‘crazy’ about the player and wants to sign him.

Barcelona studying the structure for an opening offer

Building on that, journalist Gianluigi Longari now reports that Barcelona are now ready to act on their interest in Luis Diaz, who has always been the No. 1 option for Deco.

Indeed, the La Liga champions are studying the structure for an initial offer to send to Liverpool as they step up efforts to sign the winger.

However, it must be noted that the Reds do not see Diaz as a sellable asset at this point and have already rejected a significant offer worth €67.5 million from Bayern Munich recently. In fact, they rate the 28-year-old in excess of €100 million.

Such figures, at this point, are very much beyond the reach of Barcelona, who continue to be plagued by Financial Fair Play issues.

So, Deco & Co. are understood to be studying the best possible structure for an offer that they can put forth to convince Liverpool to do business with them.

Diaz, for his part, is said to be open to leaving Liverpool this summer and would welcome a move to Barcelona.

However, the economic challenges of the transfer could make the operation difficult for the Catalan heavyweights.
