Barcelona are set to wear a Coldplay logo on their shirts during the upcoming El Clasico, according to journalist Toni Juanmarti via SPORT.

The Blaugrana club and the British band have come to an agreement, with a special logo of Coldplay set to feature on Barcelona’s shirts in the highly anticipated match against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu on 27 October.

Although the specific design of the logo is still under wraps, this collaboration adds another exciting element to the rivalry.

This partnership is part of the ongoing sponsorship deal between Barcelona and Spotify, which was signed in July 2022. Since that agreement, there has been plenty of discussion about innovative ways to bring both music and football closer together, and this logo for the Clasico is one of those initiatives.

Past collaborations

The collaboration is not just limited to the game – a special edition of the shirt will be made available for purchase. This means that both Barcelona fans and Coldplay enthusiasts can get their hands on a limited-edition jersey that merges two of their favourite worlds: football and music.

Interestingly, this is not the first time Barcelona has embraced music on their jerseys. In October 2022, they wore the iconic Drake emblem during a match against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu.

Following that, in March 2023, the club displayed the ‘Motomami’ logo from Rosalia, a Spanish music sensation. The trend continued last season with the Rolling Stones logo taking centre stage on Barcelona’s kit for another El Clasico.

The most recent collaboration saw Karol G’s name on the Barcelona shirt in a league match against Real Madrid.

This growing tradition of combining global music icons with Barcelona’s iconic shirt brings a fresh twist to football sponsorships, strengthening the bond between sport and music. Fans can look forward to the new design and add it to their collection.
