After having completed the operations for the renewals of important players like Ronald Araujo, Pedri, Gavi, and Pau Cubarsi, FC Barcelona are now planning on completing the renewals of several other players in the coming few months.

In this regard, one of the highest priorities for the Catalans is the renewal of the winger Lamine Yamal. The La Masia graduate’s current contract goes till 2026, but he has already agreed on another renewal once he turns 18 years of age that will keep him bound with the Blaugrana club till 2030, which will make it significantly easier for Barcelona to handle this operation.

With this new contract, Yamal’s wages at Barcelona were expected to be doubled. However, as Mundo Deportivo has noted, he has already outgrown even the new contract that he was promised once he turns 18.

The winger is already an undisputed starter and in Barcelona, has won the UEFA EURO 2024 with Spain, and also has several individual titles to his name including the Kopa Trophy, and the Golden Boy award, which makes him one of the most marketable players in Europe.

Currently, the youngster is getting only the minimum wage allowed for a first-team player and earning more in bonuses than he does in fixed wages, but the Blaugrana side understands that they will have to adapt to the player’s changed status before it leads to any dissatisfaction.

Naturally, Yamal also wants to see his salary increased to a level that a player of his stature demands. However, leaving the Catalan club is not an idea that is on his mind, as he has already communicated his plan to stay in Barcelona and to the market through his agent, Jorge Mendes.

Thus, the Blaugranes will have to reciprocate his commitment and will have to offer him a good contract, in line with his superstar status, to ensure other big clubs interested in him do not take any advantage of his situation.
