Barcelona will allow youngster to decide his own future | OneFootball

The powers that be at La Liga giants Barcelona are ready to allow an up-and-coming member of the club’s midfield ranks to decide his own future for this season.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Pablo Torre as the player in question.

Youngster Torre has of course positioned himself front and centre in the chatter surrounding Hansi Flick’s Barcelona across the summer to date.

This comes with the 21-year-old having enjoyed an altogether impressive pre-season.

Fresh off a season-long loan spell with Girona, Torre notched the only goal of the game in Barca’s downing of minnows UE Olot last month, before again proving himself decisive courtesy of a fine strike against Real Madrid.

Such exploits, alongside his perfect fit in the attacking midfield role in Hansi Flick’s 4-2-3-1, had given rise to widespread claims that Torre was all set to stay put for the season ahead.

As alluded to above, however, if the latest word to have surfaced in the media this week is anything to go by, then the situation does not seem to be quite as clear cut.

As per a report from Diario Sport, the Barcelona coaching staff would indeed be happy to keep hold of the Spanish starlet this coming season.

However, after Torre was not afforded a single minute of playing time on opening weekend in the absence of both Dani Olmo and İlkay Gündoğan, it would not come as a shock to see him seek out playing time elsewhere…

Sport therefore conclude that, in the face of mounting interest from across La Liga:

‘The club believes that the final say lies with the player and will not put up any obstacles if he wishes to leave – in principle, on loan without an option to buy – to find more playing time with another team.’
