Barcelona are reportedly set to offer Jordi Alba a new five-year deal amid reports linking him with an exit.

The 29-year-old has been a standout performer this season, scoring twice and already notching up ten assists.

Alba revealed his frustration over a lack of talks last month but Barça president Josep Maria Bartomeu has since played down the situation.

“I want Jordi Alba to stay and I’m sure Ernesto (Valverde) will be here a third season,” he told Mundo Deportivo.

“As for Jordi, you know I want him to sign for five more years and retire with us. His future will be sorted soon.

“We are already preparing for the future with De Jong and Todibo, but Alba is a player for the present as well.”

Alba has spent seven years with Barça, making 275 appearances and winning 12 titles – including four LaLiga titles.
