Barcelona vice-captain shares how he played a part in setting up Lamine Yamal’s vacation with Neymar Jr | OneFootball

As FC Barcelona are not participating in the FIFA Club World Cup, the 2024-25 season has been over for them for some weeks now, and the Blaugrana players are enjoying their vacations before they start training in the next pre-season on 13th July.

One player whose vacations have been well covered by the media is the winger Lamine Yamal, who spent a week in Brazil and hung out with the Brazilian legend and former Barcelona player Neymar Jr.

There is not a lot known about how the two footballers planned this vacation, but some hints in this regard have been provided by the only Brazilian player in this Blaugrana squad, the forward and vice-captain Raphinha.

As SPORT has reported, the Canarinha winger recently appeared in an advertising event in Sao Paulo, and while talking to the media, revealed how Yamal had asked him about Neymar:

“He asked me if he sent a message to Ney, would he reply… and I think he did respond because I saw them together. And I told him… of course he’s going to reply!”

Further commenting on his teammate’s vacation to his native country, Raphinha commented:

“He told me he was coming and I didn’t give him any special advice — he just asked me for suggestions on places to visit here… the only thing I told him was that you can’t spend a holiday in Brazil without looking for a good beach and a fun place to enjoy yourself… as a good Brazilian, I encouraged him to come.”

Increasing importance in the Barcelona team

The Barcelona vice-captain went on to highlight the importance that the young winger has gained in the Catalan team:

The Spaniard has now already returned to Spain and is currently spending time in Ibiza. Hopefully, he will rest well during this period and have another great season to continue cementing his status as one of the best footballers in the world.
