Heading into the summer transfer window, many Barcelona players face an uncertain future, as the Catalans’ compromising financial situation may compel them to part ways with certain stars.

Owing to his age and reported salary rise from next season, one of the players rumored to hit the exit door is Robert Lewandowski.

However, the Polish talisman has not yet entertained the possibility of departing Barça, despite chatter on the grapevine suggesting otherwise.

Lewandowski has no intention of leaving Barcelona

Indeed, according to SPORT Lewandowski is eager to fulfill the two remaining years of his contract.

Although he cannot avoid the imminence of a trophyless campaign, Lewandowski hankers to relish victory once more, as he did the season before, when he was able to celebrate winning La Liga and the Spanish Super Cup.

In fact, he is also in favour of Xavi Hernandez’s continuity, who will be staying put for another season after reversing his decision to resign at the end of the campaign.

Lewandowski is expected to have his fair share of suitors in the upcoming transfer window, but it is unlikely that he will budge due to the aforementioned factors.

Lewandowski’s worth to the squad

The 35-year-old still possesses an incredible eye for goal, as testified by his performances in the second half of the campaign.

But beyond his scoring prowess, Lewandowski is considered key in Barcelona’s locker room, guiding young talents like Lamine Yamal, Pau Cubarsi, Fermín Lopez, and Gavi. He’s seen on the pitch giving advice, sometimes sternly but always with positive intentions.

Additionally, Lewandowski is perceived as a leader in the Barcelona locker room. Following Barça’s defeats in the Cup and against Villarreal, he and other players rallied the team.

With concerns about physical preparation, the striker is also among the players who have asked the team to improve physically.
