La Liga giants Barcelona have this weekend been tipped to move for a headline member of the midfield ranks at Championship outfit Leicester City.
The player in question? Wilfred Ndidi.
Nigerian international Ndidi has enjoyed a fine season to date, amid Leicester’s ongoing push for promotion back to the Premier League.
All told, the 27-year-old has racked up 30 appearances across all competitions.
And, despite generally being recognised for his defensive capabilities, Ndidi has showcased his talents in the attacking third, too, on his way to a none-too-shabby four goals and six assists.
With his contract at the King Power Stadium due to expire in the summer, it should in turn come as little surprise to hear of interest in the signature of the midfielder beginning to mount.
And one such club, according to Mundo Deportivo, in the running for Ndidi, come in the form of Barcelona.
The Blaugrana, on the lookout for cut-price reinforcements in the middle of the park, are said to be ‘very attentive to his situation’ in England.
Also firmly in the race for Ndidi are Italian heavyweights Juventus, but the player himself, crucially, would ‘prioritise’ a move to Catalunya.
It now remains to be seen if the Barcelona brass are prepared to formalise their interest.
