With the summer transfer window on the horizon, Barcelona are already making moves to strengthen the squad after what has been a tremendously successful season.
As has been well-established, a new left-winger and a goalkeeper have emerged as priorities for the La Liga champions with Luis Diaz and Joan Garcia, respectively, identified as the ideal targets.
However, with Robert Lewandowski not getting any younger, there has been some chatter of a possible move for a centre-forward as well. And, one name that has been thrown into the mix is Victor Osimhen, who spent the season on loan at Galatasaray.
While there have been no explicit links to Barça, Osimhen’s national team coach, Eric Chelle, mentioned Barcelona as a potential club for the striker who has no future at Napoli.
“Victor, for me, is the best centre-forward in the world. The reality is that with the market window open, a player like him cannot be 100% focused. I have to protect him physically and mentally because he will be transferred,” he said.
“Maybe to a club like Manchester United. Or maybe Barcelona, Chelsea or Real Madrid,” he said of his possible destinations.

Osimhen ended the 2024/25 season with a brilliant tally of 37 goals from 41 games at Galatasaray and has proven himself to be a prolific goalscorer.
However, as far as Barcelona are concerned, there is no interest in signing the Nigerian international this summer.
In fact, the La Liga champions do not have any plans to bring in a new striker this summer – as was made clear by sporting director Deco recently when he was asked about a potential move for Viktor Gyokeres.
“He’s a great player, who has scored a lot of goals in recent years at Sporting, but at the moment we’re not looking for that position. We already have Lewandowski to play at number 9, so it’s not a position we’re looking for,” he said.
Confidence remains in Lewandowski, who was the team’s top scorer this season with 42 goals in 52 matches. Deco continues to see him as the leading figure in Barça’s attack for the 2025/26 season
