Barcelona trio to miss pre-season under new boss Hansi Flick | OneFootball

Three members of incoming Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick’s squad will miss the bulk of the club’s pre-season schedule.

As much comes owing to their respective call-ups to Spain’s squad for the Olympic games.

Santi Denia, on Wednesday, made official his panel of players in line to compete for a gold medal at the upcoming Paris games.

And amongst the group were a trio of Barcelona stars, in the form of Pau Cubarsí, Eric García, and Fermín López.

The latter, of course, is already plying his trade on the international stage, with Luis de la Fuente’s La Roja at the European Championships.

Defenders Cubarsí and Eric, on the other hand, could play some part in the initial pre-season training sessions overseen by their new manager.

From here, however, all three will miss the key weeks leading into the beginning of the campaign.

This includes friendly fixtures against all of Manchester City, Real Madrid, and AC Milan.

The football tournament at the Olympics is due to play out between July 24th and August 10th, with Spain, owing to a strong squad, considered one of the favourites to go all the way.
