Barcelona are reportedly tracking Lyon defender Ferland Mendy as an alternative to Jordi Alba.
Mendy has impressed for Les Gones this season, making 29 appearances across all competitions.
According to L’Equipe, Lyon will demand €40m for the 23-year-old who is also attracting interest from Arsenal.
Despite Barça president Josep Maria Bartomeu confirming his intention to tie down Alba, a new deal has yet to be agreed.
The 29-year-old has been instrumental under Ernesto Valverde but revealed last month that talks were “yet to take place”.
Mundo Deportivo, however, claim that any interest in Mendy revolves around him supporting the left-back instead of replacing him.
