All associated with La Liga giants Barcelona have on Monday been sent a message, regarding the club’s efforts on the transfer front.

This comes amid the assurance that one player tipped for a potential move to Catalunya’s capital ahead of the transfer deadline will not be joining the club any time soon.

The player in question? Rafael Leão.

The name of attacker Leão has of course emerged as a prominent one at Barcelona over the course of the last week.

This comes after word was forthcoming that the Portuguese international had emerged as an ambitious late-window target on the part of Deco and the Camp Nou brass.

After missing out on priority winger target Nico Williams, Barca, it has been claimed by several sources, are giving serious consideration to an offer for Leão.

Safe to say, however, that if the latest update stemming from the media on Monday is anything to go by, then those of a Blaugrana persuasion need not get their hopes up when it comes to the chances of as much.

Drawn on the saga during a fan Q&A late this evening, transfer insider Fabrizio Romano assured:

“Leão to Barcelona? Forget about it. Leão is staying at Milan.”
