Barcelona to officially announce major contract renewal on Wednesday | OneFootball

Having managed to lead the team to a domestic treble in his debut season, Hansi Flick is the toast of the town in Barcelona.

The 60-year-old German tactician signed for the club last summer, penning a two-year contract until 2026.

But given how he has taken the team to the next level, the Catalans have already been working on an extension for the manager and a total agreement has also been reached between the two parties.

Now, according to Mundo Deportivo, this Wednesday will mark an important day for Hansi Flick as Barcelona and the manager have chosen this day to formally announce his contract renewal

The new contract will extend the German’s stay at the club until June 2027.

As previously reported, the final details of the agreement were settled during a meeting held after the Clasico on 11 May.

Flick first met with his agent, Pini Zahavi, and then with club president Joan Laporta at the Botafumeiro restaurant, where they finalised the remaining terms of the extension.

Barcelona will announce Flick’s renewal through an official statement and will not hold a press conference. However, the club will release video content and comments from the coach through its own media channels.

While Barça were initially keen to include an optional additional year, Flick preferred to sign for just one more year beyond his current deal. The 60-year-old expressed a preference for short-term contracts.

At the end of the 2026/27 season, both parties will reassess their position and decide whether to continue.
