Barcelona to bid today for Athletic Bilbao defender Inigo Martinez

Barcelona are ready to bid for Athletic Bilbao defender Inigo Martinez.

The centre-back, who has a release clause of 80 million euros, has not entertained any thoughts of sitting down to negotiate his renewal.

The same media explained a few days ago that Athletic have refused to negotiate for Iñigo Martínez after the initial contact with FC Barcelona. To follow up after this, Barça would be willing to go up a step with a concrete and significant offer, that is nonetheless not likely to cover the entire release clause.

The player, who has already agreed to personal terms with Barça for four years, resumed normal training under Ernesto Valverde. The negotiation for his renewal was blocked off by Iñigo Martínez himself a few months ago.
