Barcelona have a plethora of special talents coming through the ranks at the club’s La Masia youth setup – one of whom happens to be goalkeeping prodigy Aron Yaakobishvili.
The 19-year-old Hungarian talent has been at the club since 2018 and has enjoyed steady progress through the ranks over the years.
Rated very highly at the club, Yaakobishvili is all set to sign a new contract with Barcelona later today, reports Jijantes FC.
The teenage shot-stopper’s current contract stood to expire at the end of the ongoing season and despite talks taking place the renewal process had been stalled for months now, leading to question marks over his future.
However, after signing with the agency of Pini Zahavi, who has excellent ties with the Blaugrana, Yaakobishvili is now set to renew his contract with the club.
In fact, the youngster is already at the club offices to complete the official process of the contract signing, following which an announcement can be expected.
The 19-year-old has been a constant presence in Juliano Belletti’s Barcelona Juvenil A team this season which has won the treble, including the UEFA Youth League.
At the same time, Yaakobishvili made his debut for Barça Atletic this season, featuring three times in the RFEF Primera Division.
Considered a potential future No. 1 at the club, Yaakobishvili’s renewal with Barcelona comes as a big boost.
