Barcelona teenage gem will sign his first pro contract with club tomorrow – report | OneFootball

A number of young talents have been called up for the pre-season training by new FC Barcelona manager Hansi Flick.

One such talent happens to be La Masia teenage wonderkid Toni Fernandez, who celebrates his 16th birthday today.

Contract signing imminent

Having turned 16 years old today, Toni Fernandez is now eligible to sign a professional contract with Barcelona, which he will do tomorrow, reports SPORT.

An agreement is already in place for the teenage forward to pen a three-year deal until 2027, as is the norm with underage players.

A gifted talent from La Masia, Toni Fernandez excelled for Barça’s Juvenil B outfit in the season gone by and is expected to be a part of the Juvenil A setup in the upcoming season under Juliano Belletti.

The 16-year-old is a versatile left-footed forward known for his keen eye for a goal as well as his creative abilities.

Training with the first-team squad under Flick has the youngster on cloud nine and he will now celebrate his 16th birthday with the signing of his first professional contract tomorrow.

Given the potential that he possesses, it might not be a surprise to see the young striker get fast-tracked to Barça Atletic, where he would share the pitch with cousin Guille Fernandez.

A first-team debut might also be not far away for Toni Fernandez, especially with Barcelona not having enough backup in the No. 9 position following Marc Guiu’s exit and Vitor Roque’s uncertain future.
