According to Fabrizio Romano on Caught Offside, Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans is yet to decide on his next move amid strong links with a summer switch to Barcelona and Arsenal.

The 25-year-old Belgian international is in the final year of his contract with Leicester and looks poised to leave the club as a free agent in the summer.

Arsenal have held a long-standing interest in Tielemans and even made attempts to sign him last summer without any success. But they continue to push for his capture next summer, with some reports even suggesting that the ex-AS Monaco ace had given his word to the Gunners.

At the same time, there have also been claims that the midfielder could be leaning towards a move to Barcelona. But, Romano has now clarified that Tielemans has not committed himself to any team as of yet and the race for his signing is still very much open.

“Tielemans has not given his word to any club, yet,” Romano said. “It’s still open and he will decide at the right moment.

“Barcelona are linked to all the free agent players on the market as they always monitor the free agents market, but it’s not something advanced as things stand.”

Barça’s financial problems mean that they continue to keep an eye out for free-transfer opportunities in the transfer market.

And Tielemans can be a top signing in that regard as he would cost nothing in transfer fees. At 25, he still has his best years ahead of him while he already has a lot of top-level experience under his belt, making the Belgian a hot commodity.

Apart from Arsenal and Barcelona, several other clubs are also keen on signing the former RSC Anderlecht wonderkid. And with the race for his signature still very much open, it will be interesting to see if the Blaugrana can beat their competitors to the punch.
