Vitor Roque has been in the news lately in Barcelona, as the forward has emerged as one of the transfer targets for the club for next season.

Barça want to sign Roque as part of their plans to add a backup option to star striker Robert Lewandowski, before eventually giving him the role of the club’s first-choice centre-forward.

Barcelona are already drawing up plans to sign Roque, who currently plies his trade with Athletico Paranaense.

A recent report from Mundo Deportivo has offered an update on the future of Roque, suggesting that the young Brazilian has made a move to Camp Nou his priority, despite interest from the likes of Chelsea, West Ham United, and PSG.

It appears he is determined to become a part of the Barça project that has seen the development of multiple young players over the past couple of years.

Barcelona, though, are aware of the fact that they must make a move quickly. Although Roque is keen on joining the Blaugrana, the club are facing stiff competition from other European giants in the pursuit of the young Brazilian.

After Endrick opted to join Real Madrid, Vitor Roque is indeed being identified as the next big thing in Brazilian football, having racked up seven goals in 36 competitive outings for Athletic Paranaense.

He has performed consistently in the youth levels of international football as well, essentially making himself one of the most sought-after figures in the South American market.

Barcelona, for their part, have missed out on a plethora of hidden South American gems in recent times. But they are ready to go all out on Vitor Roque, who is also a target for the likes of West Ham, PSG, and Chelsea.

However, it must be noted that the Catalans are in desperate need of generating fresh revenue and balancing the books, before they can make a move for any player in the market, including Vitor Roque.
