N’Golo Kanté has surprisingly emerged as a target for Barcelona.
The club won LaLiga in Ernesto Valverde’s first season as boss but are now looking to rebuild after failing to reach the Champions League semi-final for the third year in a row.
Barcelona legend Andrés Iniesta has left for Japan and Paulinho has returned to China, meaning some refreshment is needed beyond the additions of defender Clément Lenglet and midfielder Arthur.
With Chelsea set to appoint Maurizio Sarri and sign Jorginho, some big sales could be required to balance the books.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Italia, that could mean N’Golo Kanté becomes available, with Jorginho coming in to take his place.
The Italian journalist says Barcelona could include Portuguese international André Gomes in any deal.
Barcelona have previously been linked with Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot, whose contract expires next summer.
PSG had reportedly been considering a more for Kanté as a replacement.
