Even though more tests are set to be carried out later today, FC Barcelona winger talisman is considered to be ‘practically ruled out’ of next weekend’s La Liga clash against Atletico Madrid, according to RAC1.

Yamal, 17, who had recently recovered from an ankle injury, suffered a sprain during last night’s La Liga encounter against Leganes after being on the receiving end of a strong tackle from an opponent.

The young winger, who has been one of the team’s most crucial players this season, seemed to be in discomfort from midway through the first half itself but was taken off only deep in the second period.

Following the match, Lamine was seen limping while leaving the stadium, raising alarms over his fitness.

As has been reported already, he will undergo more tests today to determine the extent of his injury problem, but RAC1 suggests that he is pretty much out of Barcelona’s La Liga game against Atletico Madrid next Saturday.

If so, it will come as a huge blow for Barça, especially considering the importance of the match against Diego Simeone’s men.

After all, Los Rojiblancos are currently tied on points with the Catalans while having played a game less in the league this season.

Lamine has been directly involved in 18 goals in 21 matches for Barcelona this season – with six goals and 12 assists to his name.

His absence in a crunch tie against Atletico Madrid in the coming weekend has the potential to hurt Barcelona, especially with Robert Lewandowski also looking off-colour against Leganes last night.
